Unit 1 Barakah Nuclear Power Plant

The Barakah nuclear power plant is the United Arab Emirates’s first nuclear power station, the first nuclear power station in the Arabian Peninsula, the second in the Persian Gulf region and the first commercial nuclear power station in the Arab World.

The plant’s ground-breaking ceremony was held on 14 March 2011, and construction of the first unit begun on the 18th July 2012. The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) announced that its operating and maintenance subsidiary, Nawah Energy Company, has successfully started up the Unit of the Barakah Nuclear Plant, located in the Al Dhafrah Region of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The start-up of this unit is the most historic milestone to date in the delivery of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program. AMC is proud to announce that we have been a part of this historical event through the successful execution of Roofing & Waterproofing works.
